Aytak Dibavar is an Iranian-Canadian lawyer and a postcolonial feminist educator in Gender and Social Justice Program at McMaster University. Aytak’s work/research are entangled with feminist, queer, decolonial, and anti-racist knowledge production and creative/art-based teaching practices. Aytak reads and writes about race, gender, memory, political trauma and silence. For more than a decade, Aytak has developed a dual academic and activist career on issues pertaining to women’s and LGBTQIA+ community’s rights – specifically related to trauma survivors, resettlement, and barriers to education and workplace access for femme refugees.

Brand overview

For over 10 years, Aytak's love and ambition for shining a spotlight on  education and activism around silence, trauma, women's and LGBTQIA+ rights has grown just as much as her influence. Over those years her educational work and activism have grown immensely but her website which acts an online CV of sorts stayed locked in at the content she posted in the early 2000s. Our goal was to present a brand and online presence that felt fresh and relevant to the current reality. We also created an easy way for inquiring minds to access her library of published work, to listen to podcast episodes she's been a guest on and to hire her for speaking gigs.

Together we can crafted a visual and written strategic web flow that clearly communicates a feeling of ease, an accurate representation of her credentials, your creativity and community involvement, and what visitors to your site can expect from an interaction with her and her work. We created a website that amplifies her compelling message. One that will clearly express her character and takes the visitor on a journey through Aytak's academic and creative work, and student and community involvement. By developing a strategic visual and written framework for sharing Aytak's brand, she was able to feel more freedom and less overwhelm around sharing her profound knowledge and inportant work consistently.
